Saturday! Open House NY at Green-wood Cemetery

One of NYC’s best events, Open House NY, is this weekend, and if you’re like me, you get shut out of all the ticketed events because your fingers aren’t quite fast enough to snag them. Luckily for all of us, one of the coolest places involved—Green-Wood Cemetery—doesn’t require any tickets at all, and this weekend you’ll be able to check out some rarely opened mausoleums.

Among the tombs open for viewing on Saturday is that of theater impresario and tavern keep William Niblo, whose Niblo’s Garden dominated the genteel New York theater scene downtown from 1828-1894. If mausoleums aren’t enough for you, on Saturday from 12pm-4pm, Brainery pal Ben Feldman will be presenting a scene from Niblo’s life, for your viewing pleasure!
